INTRO

U&V HOMES IS THE VISION OF THREE INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE DEDICATED THEMSELVES FOR OVER TWO DECADES IN THE SERVICE OF STUDENTS STUDYING AT SHRISTI SCHOOL OF DESIGN. SIMPLE, HONEST AND ROOTED IS WHAT BEST DESCRIBES THEM JUST LIKE THE NAME OF THEIR HOME STAY.

WHY US?

It all started with a request for a few rolls by the faculty of Shristi school of design working overnight to lay the foundation of the school. The year 1999. A young enterprising couple then decided to take the plunge by partnering the institution in creating an ecosystem that could take care of prospective design students from all over the country. A partnership that was exclusive to the institution, a relationship built on a long term vision and based on the belief in the potential of new age education.

Since then Umesh and Veena, guided by the wisdom of Mr B.R Deoraj have nurtured and built the ecosystem. Painstakingly working hard to keep costs down, quality up.

Knowing that to no one can replace a home, so much so for the adage ‘home away from home’. The only tool at their disposal, personal involvement at every level. “U&V Home” is proud to say that it has no extensions, no add on businesses, it exists only to serve the students of Shristi.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Over the years we have learnt that we are not just about providing accommodation and facilities to students. That makes us no different from hostels. We are not a hostel. We have taken the responsibility of taking care of young adults leaving their homes perhaps for the first time.

We understand the concerns and anxiety of parents when they shift their loved ones to stay away. We therefore strike a fine balance between hospitality and a home environment. Between discipline and total freedom.

Be it a celebration, or taking care of a sick soul. Guiding them in a new city making them comfortable, giving them a sense of security we have learnt the fine art.

Our accumulated experience of taking care of over 1000 Shristi students helps us guide these bright and very ‘different from the rest’ student community. We continue to learn on and be surprised by them.

That’s our source of love, our motivation to carry one, to know these young minds and to feel happy in being able to serve them

ACCOMMODATION

We provide separate accommodation for boys and girls. You get a choice of an independent villa or an apartment. The facilities and service are of the same level for both types.

OUR SERVICES

FOOD:

The one thing you miss when away from home is food. Over the years we have learnt the palette and the wants of young adults of Shristi.
We open our heart out to prepare the best home food with extra care just as a mother does. We understand we cannot run it like a hotel, ration portions or recycle food. Freshly prepared with no restrictions for the students to have to their hearts content.

Just have a word about our food’s popularity with our existing students and you will be convinced. No wonder many of them seek to shift to us later on for the word of mouth cannot be stopped !

Security:

A comprehensive network of surveillance CCTV cameras ensure that we keep a close watch. The discreetly placed cameras are not intrusive and located at strategic entry points.

House Keeping:

Keeping the rooms, RO filter, Elevator clean and tidy is ensured by our team of housekeeping staff on all weekdays.

Laundry:

We make you worryfree from laundry management. Extra care is taken to have the right wash, organize and stack the clothes, making it very convenient. Washing Machines are Provided in all buildings

Medical Support:

Being sick and away from home needs special care. We strive to help with medical support whenever such a need arises. Trusted and experienced health care professionals are available when needed.

Hi, my name is Eisha Hingmire and I am a first year student from Srishti. I stay in B1-32. Here are a few points about Umesh PG which helped me call it a home and not a PG anymore. 1) The food is good and suits the climate. For instance, we also get lemonade/tang/buttermilk during summers. The menu is not fixed for most of the meals which ensures that it doesn't get monotonous. 2) The security guards are always there to help when it comes to safely issues in our area. 3) We get immediate help in case the water runs out or there are any other household issues. 4) Vimla maam conducts regular visits to our PGs to make sure that we are fine and also regarding any household issues. 5) They also take you to the hospital in case anyone is sick. Besides, they also try to cater to your dietary requirements if you are unwell. I am sure that every student will have a homely experience in Umesh PG.

House no 18, Umesh p.g has been my home from past 4 years. I never had a feeling of being in hostel. Perhaps staying in Umesh p.g gives you a feeling of belonging! It is said there’s no place like home which is true but all the bhaiyyas and especially our beloved Masterji ( cook) took care of food and did not mind our fussy ness. We were well taken care of.

Myself Vikram Khurana and currently I am in my final year. I shifted to U & V pg only in my 4 th year but regret not being a part of it since before! Umesh uncle is no less than a local guardian! Be it 6 in the morning or 2 in the night, its never too early or too late to call him and bother him with our problems

Trust me, If u believe U & V homes is just a PG, then you are wrong! To me, it was second home that I couldn’t find in any other PG. Uncle and aunty have always provided endless services with their pure heart to all the bachha-log!
